What does your world look like, and how do you want it to look? What makes you tick or tock?
Perhaps you can remember a defining moment, a blinding flash of the obvious that changed the course of your awareness and your life?
My moment happened in my early thirties at the local Playcentre. I was sitting on the edge of the sandpit, watching my two pre-schoolers play when another mum asked, “Paula, how is it you are so calm, so patient playing with the kids and you always seem to know where you are going in life?”
What! I was dumb-founded – Me…? Calm, collected and together? Was that really how I appeared to others, because that’s not how I felt on the inside. Inside I felt anxious and worried much of the time.
I began to realise how we appear on the outside and how we feel on the inside, can be two very different things. Yes, we go along each day doing our best, but it can be a crazy, demanding, confusing world at times, and back then I felt disempowered and confused by it all.
Stop, Worrying… Start Living
That conversation was the seed for a yearning to understand my inner dynamics – what made me tick or tock. Next I read Dale Carnegie’s transformational book ”How to Stop Worrying and Start Living”. The book germinated the seed, and from there grew a lifelong curiosity about human development and how to harness the power of our minds. I studied, worked with great coaches, and continued to stretch my comfort zone, until I finally understood my drives and passions.
Nowadays I have a clarity about who I am and how I want to be in the world. I am calm and collected inside and outside. What drives me now is a passion to have you discover how to feel that way too!
